In my opinion, this wedding has been a long time coming. When I started my photography business over 6 years ago, Henna and Fab were two of my first clients. And even though Fab hadn’t yet popped the question, they both agreed to being my “muses” as I built up my engagement photo portfolio. I may have been a newbie at portrait photography; but to this day, I still love the photos I captured of them! And as it turns out, they did too! ![]()
What really excited me about their wedding was the infusion of Eastern and Western cultures in the details of their day. Henna’s dress was one of the most unique and beautiful that I’ve ever photographed. Like her Mehndi dress, it was covered in elaborate embroidery and jewels and there were times she shone like an angel! Her beautiful Eastern-styled veil was nearly as heavy as her wedding dress, and yet this teeny tiny girl still gracefully floated through the day without a peep of complaint. That’s stamina. That’s Henna. This is a girl who will go to great lengths to get the wedding of her dreams, and it showed in every detail – from the Indian musicians who entertained the wedding guests during the cocktail hour, to the six-tiered blue and white winter-themed wedding cake surrounded by white candle-lit lanterns. Throughout the whole day, there was beauty everywhere you looked and I certainly had fun capturing it all!
It was certainly a festive celebration of cultures, because on Fabio’s side, come the Italians, who nearly brought down the house when the dancing got started! I can say without a doubt, that when East meets West, they sure know how to party!
And of course, at the center of it all is Henna and Fab, who even after five years of dating, still have a shyness around each other that was both sweet and charming. I’m so happy they’ve finally tied the knot and I’m so glad to have been there to celebrate! Hugs and kisses to both of you!
I must also say thanks to my assistant Robyn (many of her photos are also included in this post) for keeping me happy and hydrated throughout the day – love you Monkey!
Enjoy! xo Lee

Nothing better than the look on a bride’s face when she reads a love note from her soon-to-be hubby!

I love this photo of Henna and a portrait of her Dad.

This wedding I decided to mix it up a bit, with Robyn heading the prep shots with Henna and me joining Fab and the boys. It was a lot of work, but I had a lot of fun!

Such a great shot of Henna just before her uncle walks her down the aisle.

Yes, I know it’s February, but why do you have to be so cold? Thankfully, Henna and Fab have heros for friends and we all braved the below zero weather to capture this stunning photo.

Ahh! Warmer bridesmaids make for happier bridesmaids! ![]()

With only five minutes to spare, we all ran outside to capture a few shots in this amazing golden light! Love this time in the day and how romantic it makes everything look.

If, at your wedding, you must have a framed photo surrounded with comments from your guests, then this is definitely the way to do it – a metallic matte that self-engraves when you write on it.

Robyn and I were trying to come up with cool ideas for the ring shots, when the bartender poured a line of lighting fluid on the bar and set it on fire! Amazeballs!

With heavy veil set aside, Henna had the mobility to perform the dance routine that she and Fab had choreographed. Sigh. Such an entertaining night!

Wow! Each image is truly amazing and gives the viewer the feeling of being there. While the Bride & Groom beatifully honoured both cultures, Lee has captured the spirit of every moment which can be treasured forever!
Leanne and Robyn did an amazing job capturing the moment, the love and feel of our wedding. Thank you so much for giving us such special pictures we will cherish forever!!
