What do you get when you combine an apple orchard, a picnic and a beautiful, happy couple expecting their first baby? Gorgeous, gorgeous photos! I met Dianna and Sean at a wedding last summer and was ecstatic when they contacted me to photograph their maternity session. I couldn’t have asked for a better time of year to do the shoot – mid-September, when the leaves are just starting to turn colour and the light is so soft and yummy! Seriously, September is my favourite month of the year – I wish all my shoots could fall within this month! And I LOVE doing maternity shoots, because it’s all about the happiest time in a couple’s lives – the celebration of a new life that will soon join theirs! Dianna and Sean are an amazing couple – the adoration these two have for each other at times nearly brought tears to my eyes. Dianna was very much involved in the planning of her maternity session with me. Originally wanting to do a June Cleaver housewife theme, complete with poodle skirt, pearls and cupcakes in the kitchen, we soon realized how difficult it was to find a kitchen in Toronto that hadn’t been renovated since the 1950′s! I suggested a picnic in an apple orchard and Dianna jumped on the idea! Along for the fun came my super talented and perky assistant, Katherine Holland, who’s own experience as a new mom made her an instant confidant to Dianna!

They may have looked pretty, but these “Mom” and “Dad” cookies were stale and the frosting tasted like wax! Cookie blasphemy!

I love this shot of Katherine’s – dreamy!

Lucky find! On an unmarked trail, away from the petting zoo and the crowds, we discovered this huge pumpkin patch and a field of lavender and yellow wildflowers! Heaven! And a great photo taken by Katherine!

Hello, Angelina Jolie!

Oh, Dianna and Sean: I’m so enamoured by you two! Thanks for a lovely afternoon! I can’t wait to meet your little baby! xo Lee

YAY! Lee- these photo’s are AMAZING – THANK YOU!!! Sean & I will be so proud to display these in the nursery and if our little one appreciates photography even half as we do, I’m sure he/she will cherish these images as we grow old. It was great fun seeing you again and hanging out for the day!

ps. Thanks to Katherine, too, who did a fab job assisting, photographing, and helping me waddle over uneven ground
