Little Cameron

One of the best parts of my job as a photographer, is meeting new people and witnessing them at the highlights of their lives.   Miranda and Darren have always held a special place in my heart.  When I met with them the first time to hear about their wedding plans, I was literally BOWLED over by how elaborate Darren’s proposal was to Miranda!  Starting with a luxurious day at the spa, Miranda then dressed in an outfit that Darren had newly purchased for her!  He drove her to her childhood home, (the fact that she doesn’t live there anymore didn’t stop Darren from getting permission from the owners to BUILD an engagement gazebo in the backyard!   To top things off, Darren had sculpted out of metal, a two-foot tall ring; the HUGE diamond painstakingly carved out of ice, in which waited Miranda’s engagement ring!  What girl wouldn’t say “YES!” to this kind of proposal????

Darren and Miranda are ridiculously in love!  When I’m photographing them, I lose myself in their sweet affection for each other – For their engagement photos, the three of us spent 12 hours over two days, roaming all over the place, our energy never ceasing!   As artists themselves, they’ve allowed me free reign to challenge myself as a photographer – I have to admit, my learning curve spikes after each session I’ve had with them.   Miranda and Darren: you are my muses!

How lucky I’ve been to be a part of so many amazing moments in their lives. And so, when Miranda and Darren announced that their baby Cameron had been born, I juggled my schedule around to fit them in for a newborn shoot.  What I love about these photos, is how they so elegantly portray Miranda’s and Darren’s joy and fascination in their new baby boy.  And he is as charming and unique as his parents  – so relaxed and peaceful during most of the session.  I truly can’t wait to watch this little one grow up over the years.  Thanks again, M&D for being such a joy to be around! xo Lee
